Science Bowl Practice
Earlier project
Science Bowl Practice is a study project I built around a structured question bank and a multiplayer game for teammates to compete to answer questions.
From PDFs to structured questions
The source material was a collection of practice PDFs. I used batch AI processing to extract questions into a database, preserving the information needed for practice: topic, question format, answer choices, correct answers, and bonus questions.
That data model matters because short-answer and multiple-choice questions need different presentation and answer handling. The question bank gives the practice interface a consistent structure to work with.
Multiplayer practice
I built a real-time multiplayer version using WebSockets to connect players in a shared practice game. This brought together question processing, database modeling, and a browser interface for group practice.
The project went through different versions. The question-bank and practice interface remain the core of the project; the multiplayer work belongs to an earlier version.
