GLASS Operator
In progress · requirements and schematic complete
GLASS Operator is a new project for hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) testing of our rocket's data acquisition system, or DAQ.
The goal
We're building a way to test the DAQ's behavior with hardware in the loop. I'm interested in the software that makes those tests understandable: what the test is asking the system to do, how the system responds, and how we interpret the result.
Current stage
Our team recently completed the requirements and system schematic, and we're beginning implementation. I don't have a working test-system demo to share yet.
The requirements and schematic are team work, and I'm preparing to take on a substantial development role as we build GLASS Operator. I'll document the parts I own and the results as implementation progresses.
How this relates to Ascent
Ascent concerns rocket operations and telemetry. GLASS Operator focuses on testing the DAQ. Together, they're an opportunity for me to learn both how to present a system's behavior and how to check it.
